Battenkill Creamery

photo (16)Seth McEachron’s (Skidmore ’04) family has been dairy farming in the Battenkill Valley region of Upstate, NY for more than a century. His great-great grandfather began milking cows just up the valley in 1902.

In 1945, Seth’s grandfather moved the farm to its current location. They have been farming the same land ever since. The farm has steadily grown from 12 cows when Seth’s grandfather took over to the current size of 350 cows. The herd consists of Holsteins, Jerseys and Holstein-Jersey crossbreeds.

In 2008, Battenkill Creamery started bottling its own milk.  The first processing day was February 15th, 2008. The milk goes from the cows to the bottles in less than eight hours! Battenkill takes pride in providing its customers with the freshest milk possible.  In May 2010 Battenkill began a home delivery service, providing local, farm fresh products to the doorsteps of its Saratoga Springs’ customers.
